Did BTS fans fix Ticketmaster for Harry Styles?
It seems so. The general sale for Harry Styles’ five concerts in Mexico sold out in hours, but this time without the usual chaos. And many Stylers are giving credit to an unexpected group: the BTS ARMY.
Days before, the followers of the Korean band held a massive mobilization. They reported Ticketmaster to Profeco for resale and problems in their sales. The result was a fine for the platform.
That precedent did not go unnoticed. Karen, a Styles fan, said it clearly to EL UNIVERSAL:
“They are queens, really. It was fair and necessary for Ticketmaster to have consequences for all the things it has done over the years to hundreds of fandoms.”
The media pressure worked. The virtual lines to get tickets for Harry did not exceed 6 thousand people, a low figure compared to other large events. For Karen, who already has her ticket secured, this time there was more clarity in prices and in the process.
A sixth date and a new scheme
The demand was so great that there is already a sixth confirmed date: Monday, August 10 in CDMX. The pre-sale will be on February 3.
Although Ticketmaster has not confirmed the entire scheme, it is likely that the dynamic will be repeated: a Priority sale on February 2 and the general sale on the 4th.
Moral of the day: Sometimes a strong fandom can be a game-changer…for everyone else.
