The digital fight that escalated into threats
The Mexican entertainment world has a new battle front, and this time it is not on stage. Lu, the creator known as Bebeluluz, uploaded a video to TikTok that hit the nail on the head. She directly accuses the reggaeton singer Bellakath (Katherina Huerta) of having publicly threatened her.
“Bellakath threatened to physically attack me or have someone do it, so if anything happens to me, I hold her completely responsible,”
said Bebeluluz in front of the camera. The trigger was an Instagram story where Bellakath, with a defiant attitude, launched what were interpreted as aggressive hints.
How did this mess start?
It all goes back to January 19. Bebeluluz posted a video criticizing what he called Bellakath’s “falsehood” and “double standards.” The reason was a comment by the singer about the physique of another artist, Emjay, amid vocal comparisons with Kenia Os.
“The grainy ones are always the envious ones, Kenya your patron saint”,
Bellakath wrote on X (formerly Twitter) showing support for Kenya Os. For Bebeluluz, this was pure hypocrisy: making fun of someone else’s physique when she herself had rejected criticism about her own body.
Bellakath’s response was immediate. In another video, with a challenging tone, he talked about “hitting her” or “sending someone.” In addition, Bebeluluz claims that the singer used insults against her appearance and economic situation, calling her “ugly,” “poor” and “man.” Terms that the influencer calls sexist and misogynistic.
Meanwhile, Bellakath had already released his version earlier. In a previous post, she hinted that Bebeluluz only gains attention by speaking badly about her:
“Always when he talks bad about me… he gets the best attention he ever had,”
said the ‘Reggaeton Champagne’ singer.
And now what? The singer has not given official statements following the latest accusation. But the case is already a trend. In digital forums and comments there is division: some defend Bellakath’s right of reply; others question his methods for handling controversies.
On Instagram, some users criticize Bebeluluz’s strategy:
“You are offensive and passive aggressive… if you don’t like your integrity being exposed, don’t be disrespectful,”
they comment addressing the creator.
In the end, this is more than just a celebrity feud. It is a perfect (and quite absurd) reflection of how conflicts are managed today: public, personal and potentially dangerous. Networks are the battlefield and threats, unfortunately, seem to be part of the arsenal.
