Portuguese striker Rafael Leão was sent off this Saturday during Portugal’s 2-0 victory over Chile in a friendly in preparation for the World Cup.
What happened?
Leão got into an altercation with Chilean defender Iván Román after considering that he received a foul. The AC Milan footballer swung his fist, and Román responded angrily. The referee showed a direct red card to both just before the break.
The match
Cristiano Ronaldo started, but came out at half-time. His replacement, Gonçalo Guedes, scored the first goal. Despite playing with a man less, Portugal maintained control and secured the victory.
