Did Ticketmaster fail with BTS? The company says no
The pre-sale for the BTS concerts at the GNP Stadium was, shall we say, intense. Thousands of ARMY fans trying to enter at the same time. The result: massive complaints on networks about slowness and errors.
But Ticketmaster has another version. A spokesperson consulted by EL UNIVERSAL said that its website worked well all the time.
“The operation remained constant and functional,” said the spokesperson.
And the slowness that many reported? For the company, it is something “normal” when more than 180 thousand people queue virtually at the same time. That is, the problem is not technical, it is popularity.
Fixed prices and uncontrolled resale
There were also rumors that prices were rising in real time (what they call ‘dynamic prices’). Ticketmaster flatly denies this. They claim that the costs remained as announced: from less than $1,800 to close to $18,000 pesos.
The real drama is elsewhere. On resale platforms they already offer those same tickets… for almost $130,000 pesos! An absurd increase.
Given this, Ticketmaster’s recommendation is clear: report. They ask fans to go to Profeco and use the special section to report cases on their web portal.
“The company has no relationship with resellers,” the spokesperson insisted.
Is there still hope?
If you’re left without a ticket, don’t worry. The general sale is still scheduled for this Saturday, January 24 at 9:00 AM. There is still a chance for the concerts on May 7, 9 and 10.
So make yourself another coffee, have your card handy and cross your fingers. The battle to see BTS live is just beginning.
