The return of Marx Arriaga to the UACJ has a date, and it is not immediate
The news spread like wildfire in the academic and political corridors: Marx Arriaga, who until recently directed Educational Materials at the SEP, wants to return home. His home is the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), where he was a professor before joining the government.
But here is the unexpected twist in the script. The university’s Academic Council received his request with arms crossed. Or rather, with a unanimous decision that stops their plans.
The collegiate body took cognizance of the document presented by Arriaga, in which he notified the conclusion of his position at the SEP and his intention to resume his teaching duties.
However, they told him to wait. His return will not be now, but until August. That is, at the beginning of the second half of 2026. A postponement of several months.
Why the pause? Local reports do not detail the reasons behind this unanimous vote. But in the theater of politics and academia, a delay is never a coincidence. Is it time for the echoes of his federal management to dissipate? Or simply an administrative procedure to reintegrate him into the university rhythm?
The truth is that Arriaga changes the bureaucratic desk of the SEP for the classroom again. His departure from the government was already a fact. Now we know that his re-entry into the university will have a postponed final act.
Meanwhile, the UACJ classrooms await you. But don’t rush to reserve your spot on the first day. The function starts until the next cycle.
