Conditions for the meeting
The Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) reported that this Wednesday the maximum temperature will reach 23 °C. After noon, hot weather, cloudy skies and heavy to very heavy rain are expected, with electrical activity and possible hail.
The wind will blow from the East at a speed of 10 to 25 km/h and gusts of up to 45 km/h. At night the thermometer will drop to 18 °C, and between 3:00 and 6:00 on Thursday it could reach 15 °C.
As for Popocatépetl, no recent ash emissions are reported. If there were, the plume would disperse to the West, with a possible fall in the capital. It is recommended to stay alert to the Early Warning System.
Weather during the match
The match between Mexico and Czechia will be played at the Mexico City Stadium. The SGIRPC detailed the hourly forecast:
- From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (before the game): temperature from 17 to 19 °C, cloudy sky and winds gusting to 40 km/h.
- From 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (during the match): intervals of showers and temperature of 14 to 16 °C.
- From 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (after the game): same temperature with light rain.
Recommendations for attendees
Given the prognosis, the SGIRPC issued these indications:
- Upon entering, identify evacuation routes and emergency exits.
- Establish meeting points with your companions and carry identification.
- Consume water frequently.
- Wear a raincoat to protect yourself from the rain.
- Avoid running in hallways, stairs or ramps.
- Do not cross streets, avenues or under bridges with flowing water.
- Take care of your belongings to avoid loss.
- Follow the instructions of the SGIRPC and security personnel.
