The alliance between Mattel and WWE takes a new turn by including Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. The announcement was made during the San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where the first figure of the collection was presented: Mr. Iguana.
Nick Karamanos, general manager of Mattel’s Entertainment Alliance, called the addition of AAA “the next chapter” of this collaboration. He highlighted the cultural legacy of the Mexican promoter and the attractiveness of its characters for collectors.
Figures on sale in 2027
The figures will arrive starting in the fall of 2027. The expansion of the WWE-AAA alliance began in August 2025, when the American company integrated the Mexican promoter.
Mr. Iguana, originally from Culiacán, Sinaloa, was the first confirmed fighter. His figure recreates his characteristic outfit: green mask, body makeup and his inseparable stuffed iguana, “La Yesca”. Includes multiple points of articulation for combat poses.
In addition, the collection includes Psycho Clown, El Hijo del Vikingo and La Parka, with designs that respect their clothing and accessories. They are all part of the current AAA roster and have participated in WWE-related events.
Collectors expect new announcements in the coming months. The line could become one of the most attractive for followers of Mexican wrestling, recognizing its identity and tradition. With this collaboration, Mattel is committed to bringing representative characters of the national pankration to global shelves.
