During the next few hours and until Sunday afternoon, the state of Veracruz will maintain a low probability of rain, with a predominance of clear to partly cloudy skies and a relatively hot to hot environment at noon, reported the meteorological forecast for the entity.
However, during the night and early morning a cool to cold environment is expected, with the possibility of frost in high areas. In addition, the development of a Surada event is expected, with wind gusts that could reach between 50 and 65 kilometers per hour in typical regions of the state, mainly between the afternoon of this Saturday and the afternoon of Sunday.
Towards Sunday night, weather conditions will change significantly, as the potential for rain and storms will increase, coupled with the entry of a strong North event, with violent gusts in the coastal area and a marked drop in temperature. These conditions will be associated with the advance of cold front number 30 and its arctic air mass.
Given this panorama, authorities recommend staying informed through the Gray Alert of the Veracruz Early Warning System (SIATVER), currently in the Organization phase, and following the recommendations issued.
Regarding current conditions, temperatures of 27.0 degrees were reported in Tuxpan, 24.0 degrees in Xalapa, 27.5 degrees in Boca del Río and 24.8 degrees in Orizaba, with no record of rain in the Conagua meteorological observatories. During the morning, clear to partly cloudy skies are observed in much of the state, with fog banks in northern and southern regions that will tend to dissipate as the day progresses.
By region, the north of the entity will present a hot environment at noon and cool to cold at night, with winds from the East and Southeast that will intensify and change to the North on Sunday. In the central mountainous areas, strong gusts of wind are expected, especially in the Perote valley and the Orizaba region, as well as a probability of frost at dawn in elevated areas.
On the coast and central plain, hot weather will prevail during the day and cool at night, while in the south of the state maximum temperatures above 32 degrees are expected, with intense gusts of wind in regions such as Los Tuxtlas and the Jesús Carranza-Acayucan corridor.
The authorities urge the population to take extreme precautions in the face of sudden changes in temperature and the effects of strong wind expected for the next few hours.
