A viral duck arrives at the presidential conference
Merlin the duck, known for wearing the Mexican National Team jersey while helping his owners sell bottled water, attended President Claudia Sheinbaum’s morning conference at the National Palace this Monday.
The federal president announced comprehensive support for the bird’s family. “We are going to help you with everything you need, like any Mexican who needs support. We will always be there,” he stated from the Treasury Room.
Family business and special care
Karla, Merlín’s owner, explained that they are a hard-working family that seeks daily sustenance honestly. He defined the bird as “the boss of the business” who supervises the work. She attended the conference accompanied by her children: Carlos, 22 years old, and her youngest son, 14, who collaborate in the care of the animal and in the trade.
Karla detailed the special care that the duck requires and announced that she will begin registering the trademark with the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI). He assured that popularity has not changed them and that they continue to be simple people who appreciate the expressions of affection.
The federal government reiterated its willingness to improve the quality of life of the family and the bird, without distinction.
