Bonnie Tyler dies at 75
The Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler, whose real name was Gaynor Hopkins, died in Portugal at the age of 75, according to The New York Times. Born on June 8, 1951 in Skewen, Wales, she became a global phenomenon thanks to her song “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, a pop anthem that dominated the charts in the 80s.

Previous health problems
Days earlier, on May 6, it was reported that Tyler was hospitalized in Portugal following emergency intestinal surgery. Her condition worsened, she was induced into a coma, and although her spokesperson reported improvement, she suffered a sudden relapse. On April 30 he had been admitted urgently for an intestinal perforation.
