Fashion is a (promotional) trip
It seems that the world of Runway needs to reconnect with its readers beyond the printed page. And what better way than a world tour. As announced by 20th Century Studios on their networks, the cast of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ is preparing to visit several cities, including ours.
The list of destinations sounds like a jet set itinerary: New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, London… and Mexico. Yes, although details such as the exact date and location here are still to be confirmed.
Who could parade here?
The hope (and the memes) are placed on at least some of the cast’s heavyweights making an appearance. We talk about Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, the always glorious Stanley Tucci and, of course, the empress herself: Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly.
The film, which arrives 20 years after the original, has a release date in Mexican cinemas for April 30. The promotional tour would be the perfect prelude.
The long-awaited sequel follows Miranda Priestly, editor-in-chief of Runway, as she attempts to adapt to a world where print journalism is in decline.
There you have it. While we adapt to a world without print journalism, Miranda Priestly does so on the big screen. And maybe soon, in person. We’ll have to keep an eye out for those invitations… or at least for the photos outside the airport.
