Barça regains the lead with authority against Levante

Barça returns to the top after a key victory, taking advantage of Madrid's slip. The team's reaction was overwhelming.

Barça is in charge again

The League has a new leader, and he is the same as always. Barcelona took full advantage of Real Madrid’s setback to regain the top spot with a clear victory, one of those that cleans up bad feelings. A 3-0 to Levante that knows how to resurface.

Marc Bernal, Frenkie de Jong and Fermín López scored the goals. A perfect response after two consecutive defeats that had raised doubts. Now, Hansi Flick’s team looks from above, with a point advantage over their great rival.

“We know that it is not easy to start winning again after two defeats, but the team gave a very good response,” said Flick after the game.

The truth is that they needed it. They had just lost against Girona and a harsh correction from Atlético in the Cup. But football gives you second chances, and today they knew how to grab it with force.

Destroying start and total control

The key was to start strong. Four minutes in, Marc Bernal, an 18-year-old kid with a bright future, opened the scoring. An early goal that completely changed the dynamic of the match.

“They had an early chance, but my goal helped us settle and gain confidence,” explained the young talent.

With peace ahead, De Jong extended the lead in the first half and Fermín López closed the festival with a shot from distance in the second half. Levante, sunk in relegation places, could not put up any resistance.

There was even room for good news in the infirmary: Pedri returned to play after almost a month injured. And Lamine Yamal celebrated his 100th victory with the first team, being the youngest to achieve it. A historical fact for the pearl of La Masia.

Meanwhile, other results paint an interesting picture. Villarreal remains firmly in third position after overcoming Valencia, and is emerging as the next league obstacle for this rediscovered Barça.

The conclusion is clear: when it seemed that everything was going wrong, the team knew how to react. They have returned to the path of victory and, most importantly, they have regained the helm of LaLiga. The race for the title is more alive than ever.

Chivas without excuses: Luis Romo demands the title

Luis Romo assures that Chivas must be champion and that the excuses are over.

Last tournament, Chivas left a bitter taste when they were eliminated by Cruz Azul in the semifinals. The team arrived depleted by the absence of five called up to the Mexican National Team. Now, with the full squad and new reinforcements, the message is clear.

“We have to be champions… the objectives are no longer to reach the Liguilla, it is no longer the first places, it is no longer to get to the semifinals. Today is completely the championship,” declared Luis Romo.

The midfielder was one of those selected and knows that there are no more excuses. The additions seek to strengthen the team. “Something very big is being created. The only objective is to win,” he added.

Despite the clear goals, Romo acknowledged that they must improve. In the debut of Apertura 2026, Chivas fell at home against Toluca with a very poor display.

“We have to improve, learn a lot from that game, because again Toluca makes us pay with that hierarchy of a team that has been champion,” he said.

For the red and white captain, teams like the Red Devils are the ideal parameter. “To be champions and really compete, those are the rivals we have to beat.”

Romo concluded: “We want to be champions, but we have to grow, be more forceful, decisive, stop making mistakes. The only objective is to win. We don’t think about anything other than going step by step.”
