The municipal administration of Xalapa will reinforce the rehabilitation program of soccer fields and sports spaces, with the support of the State Government, in order to improve the infrastructure and encourage the practice of sports among the population, reported Mayor Daniela Griego Ceballos.
The municipal president pointed out that the municipality has more than 100 sports spaces under its administration, many of which are in considerable deterioration and require urgent maintenance. In that sense, he announced that they will soon begin rehabilitation work on soccer fields, a project that has already been proposed to the state governor.
“Soon we are going to start with the rehabilitation of soccer fields. We have raised it with the governor and I think she will support us; we are going to do very well in this rescue,” he expressed.
Griego Ceballos stressed that his government maintains a policy of closeness with citizens to directly identify the needs of each neighborhood, and highlighted that investment in sports infrastructure not only improves the urban image, but also benefits local athletes through better facilities, as well as support in equipment and uniforms.
He reiterated that among the main citizen demands are public works, sanitation and maintenance of sports spaces, items that have been consolidated as priorities of his administration.
He explained that the most recurrent requests from the population are related to basic urban infrastructure services, such as paving and drainage, construction of retaining walls and stairs, introduction and repair of drinking water networks, in addition to permanent attention to various areas of Municipal Services.
The mayor emphasized that the City Council maintains constant supervision of public cleaning services and the correct management of solid waste. “We are waiting to ensure that the garbage truck schedules are respected and to address issues of collections and leaks that people report to us when they come with their receipts,” he indicated.
Finally, he highlighted that the permanent pruning days, maintenance of green areas and rehabilitation of parks have been key to recovering spaces for recreation and coexistence in different neighborhoods, contributing to improving the quality of life of Xalapa families.
