The mayor of Xalapa, Daniela Griego Ceballos, confirmed the replacement in the Physical Culture Directorate of the City Council, where Rubén Ortiz Pulido Guzmán left the position for personal reasons and was replaced by Rafael Manuel Herrera Moguel, in a process that – she clarified – took place under the best terms and without any conflict.
The municipal president denied versions spread on social networks about an alleged dismissal or internal differences, emphasizing that the departure of the former official responded to personal decisions. “It is totally false that he was fired; he left on the best terms, we are good friends and we understood his personal situation,” he said.
He explained that Ortiz Pulido requested to leave his position to attend to family matters and take advantage of a job opportunity in a region close to his place of origin, a decision that was respected by the municipal administration.
In his place, Rafael Manuel Herrera Moguel was appointed, who was already part of the City Council team and collaborated in the preparation of the Municipal Development Plan. Griego Ceballos assured that the relay will not affect the continuity of the sports programs, among them “Xalapa in the World Cup” and the preparation of the 400 athletes who will represent the municipality in the next State Olympics.
“People’s Day” moves to neighborhoods for direct attention
On another issue, the mayor reported that the “People’s Day” program took place this Thursday at the Community Center of the El Moral neighborhood, as part of the strategy to bring government attention to the neighborhoods and facilitate citizen access.
He recalled that the first two days were carried out in the Municipal Palace, with sessions of up to nine hours, so it was decided to take this exercise directly to the colonies. “We not only come to listen, we come to dialogue with people and provide quick solutions,” he stated.
He explained that this mechanism allows for the immediate resolution of problems that do not require large investments, but do impact safety and quality of life, such as pruning risky trees in schools, repairing sidewalks, addressing water leaks and complaints about garbage collection. To date, more than 400 citizen requests have been received.
Supervision tours continue in municipal areas
Finally, Griego Ceballos announced that he maintains supervision tours in different areas of the City Council to learn first-hand about internal needs and strengthen institutional work. During this week he visited Civil Protection and the Prosthetic Workshop of the municipal DIF, where requests related to infrastructure and accessibility for people with disabilities were attended to.
He indicated that his objective is to conclude these visits during the month of January, leaving pending areas such as Public Cleaning, Citizen Security, the Municipal Trail and the Comprehensive Protection System for Girls, Boys and Adolescents (SIPINNA), in order to listen directly to the workers and guarantee the correct functioning of the municipal administration.
