The Studio sweeps the 2026 SAG Awards

The SAG Awards 2026 crown 'The Studio' and 'One Battle After Another' as the big winners of the night.

The night everyone wanted to work at ‘The Studio’

The SAG Awards 2026 already have owners of the party. While everyone was talking about the movie “One Battle After Another”, it was the series “The Studio” that stole the show with multiple awards. Apple TV must be toasting overpriced cider right now.

The comedy about behind the scenes of Hollywood won for actress (Catherine O’Hara), actor (Seth Rogen) and best ensemble in a comedy series. Basically, they cleaned. No surprise—the series became that rare phenomenon that critics and regular audiences alike adore.

“It is an honor that our fellow actors recognize this work,” said Seth Rogen upon receiving his award, with that characteristic laugh that we all know.

The other winners you should know

  • “The Last of Us” remains unstoppable: it won because of its team of specialists. Clickers would be proud.
  • Keri Russell and Noah Wyle took drama awards for “The Diplomat” and “The Pitt.”
  • In miniseries, Michelle Williams and Owen Cooper triumphed with intense projects about… well, sex and adolescence. Light themes.

And yes, Sean Penn won as supporting actor for “One Battle After Another”*, confirming that this film will be a monster in the next awards.

The curious thing is how these awards always reflect what we are seeing—and talking about—on networks. “The Studio” captured that collective feeling of loving/hating the entertainment industry while working in it (or dreaming about it).

Meanwhile, my cat Tarantino watched indifferently from the couch. He prefers the Oscars for cats, obviously.

Fher Olvera responds to Liam Gallagher with humor and an Oasis t-shirt

The Maná singer sent a message to Liam Gallagher after his prediction for the match.

Fher Olvera, vocalist of Maná, prepares for the halftime show of the Mexico vs England match. During rehearsals, the Jalisco native wore two t-shirts: one with the phrase “What if?” —a nod to Mexican hope in the 2026 World Cup— and another with the faces of the Gallagher brothers, leaders of Oasis.

The gesture is not accidental. Days before, Liam Gallagher – a Manchester City fan – had predicted an English rout: “Mexico is going to lose 5 to 0.” Fher responded with a video on social networks:

“Let’s see… don’t stain, get your bearings, wow. 5-0? Calm down. See you there on Sunday, let’s see how it goes.”

The message accumulated more than 791 thousand reactions and unleashed a wave of comments. Liam, known for his controversial nature, tried to calm things down:

“Every time I’ve been to Mexico everyone has been lovely. I don’t understand this negative attitude. Everything is going to be fine.”

With the Oasis shirt on, Olvera built a bridge between rivalries. The Mexican band had already participated in the opening of the 2026 World Cup on June 11, performing “Oye, mi amor.” Now, the halftime show promises to be another chapter in this rock and sports story.

ChiquitiBum: 40 years of the baton that marked Mexico

The famous Mexican song resurfaces with a modern version that connects generations.

40 years after the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, one song continues to resonate in the memories of fans: the ChiquitiBum.

It was born during that World Cup and became one of the most recognized cheerleaders in the country. Its catchy rhythm and its ease of chanting it took it beyond soccer: today it is part of family gatherings, parties and celebrations.

Over time, the ChiquitiBum stopped being just a stadium shout. It became an emblem of Mexican popular culture. Several generations adopted it as a way to celebrate.

A return with new airs

Four decades after its appearance, the porra returns with a new musical interpretation. It maintains its essence, but incorporates contemporary elements to bring it closer to a younger audience.

The commemoration also includes items inspired by the aesthetics of 1986. It is a tribute to one of the most remembered elements of the World Cup held in Mexico.

Regardless of its origin, ChiquitiBum continues to be an expression that reflects the festive atmosphere of that World Cup. And 40 years later, it remains alive in the collective memory of Mexicans.
