An Oath Against the Past
In the heart of Oaxacan Mixteca, a wind of change shook the foundations of the old regime. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with a voice full of iron conviction, launched a challenge to destiny itself, declaring before the world that the nation would never return to what she described as the dark eras of the regime of corruption and privilege. It was not a simple speech; It was an oath carved in the rock of history, a promise that the government advances, unstoppable, with the movement of the self-proclaimed Fourth Transformation.
“There are a few, a handful that cling to the ruins of yesterday, who long to return to the kingdom of corruption and favors,” the president proclaimed, each word a drawn sword. “But today we shout to you with the force of an entire people: No more! Mexico is already walking, with a firm and irrevocable step, along the luminous path of the Fourth Transformation of Public Life.”
The Echo of a Promise in Ancestral Lands
The setting could not be more symbolic: San Pedro and San Pablo Teposcolula, in the state of Oaxaca, where the past merges with the future. During the presentation of the report of the Lázaro Cárdenas General Plan, Sheinbaum Pardo not only talked about policies; He embodied a sacred principle. He reiterated, with the solemnity of an unbreakable pact, his commitment to the fundamental maxim of the 4T: “the poor first.” He declared, before heaven and earth, that public resources have been liberated, snatched from the clutches of the political and economic elite to be returned to their rightful owners.
“Our principles are our shield and our sword: for the good of all, first the poor. That is not negotiable, that will not change,” he stated with an emotion that electrified the air. “We adhere to an unquestionable truth: the money belongs to the people, to the people of Mexico, never again to the powerful, never again to the privileged!”.
In a narrative turn that shook the foundations of power, the Head of the federal Executive referred to the current president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation. He presented him not as just another bureaucrat, but as a living emblem of the new era: “a Mixtec Indian.” He attributed his rise to the top of the Judiciary to the historic reform that allowed his popular election, a silent revolution that tore down centuries-old walls. “Do you think that without the people electing the Judiciary, there would be an indigenous person presiding over the Court today?” he asked, challenging history itself. “This is a new stage, and the immense, overwhelming majority of Mexicans fervently embrace this transformation.”
An Epic Plan for the Mixteca
Accompanied by a deafening chorus of supporters chanting “You are not alone!”, the president reminded the world of the origins of her government, forged in the fire of social struggle. He assured, with the passion of someone defending his own existence, that the ethics of the movement are priceless. “Never, listen to me carefully, we will never betray what we are. We have burned into our conscience that we are the fruit of a social movement, that we came to government with a single purpose: to serve the people. And we have as a principle of life, as a sacred oath: not to lie, not to steal and, I promise you, we will never betray the people of Oaxaca or the people of Mexico.”
Together with the state president, Salomón Jara Cruz, the head of the federal Executive revealed that the plan is named after General Lázaro Cárdenas as a tribute to his legacy, since, after his presidency, he dedicated part of his life to this region. To honor that heritage, he appointed Lázaro Cárdenas Batel, his son and current head of the Office of the Presidency, to head this colossal mission.
The actions announced for the Mixteca are not simple promises; They are the pillars of a regional renaissance. A display of strength and determination that includes:
A Revolution in Roads and Paving: The construction of communication routes will continue to weave a network of progress throughout the region. By 2026, an amount equivalent to that of 2025 will be invested in municipal works, in addition to a special resource destined for artisanal roads, the veins of the most remote communities.
The Conquest of Universal Health: Medical care will be expanded, bringing well-being to the doorstep of rural communities. There will be more health centers, equipped with doctors, nurses and brigades that will go house to house, while Wellness Pharmacies will be installed in the former government grocery stores, snatching them from indifference.
Education as a Bastion: The improvement of the region’s educational infrastructure will begin. More high schools will be built, ensuring that young people can build their future close to their homes, without having to emigrate.
Water, Sacred Right: Starting next year, the repair of treatment plants will begin and a special program of water pots will be implemented for the communities, a battle against thirst and oblivion.
The Rebirth of the Social Economy and Crafts: A special program will be dedicated to the artisans of the Mixteca, guaranteeing the sale of their works at a fair price throughout the country, turning their talent into a source of dignity and prosperity.
Key figures were present at this momentous event, such as Jesús Antonio Esteva Medina, Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation; Alejandro Svarch Pérez, general director of the IMSS Bienestar; and Adelfo Regino Montes, general director of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples, all united in this epic for transformation.
