Call to commemorate a political milestone
The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has made a public call to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the beginning of the Fourth Transformation (T4). The commemorative event is scheduled for Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. in the emblematic Zócalo of Mexico City, a traditional space for large-scale political and social demonstrations.
Through a video message broadcast on her official social networks, the president called to close the year 2025 with what she described as a historic celebration. “We close this 2025 with the historic celebration of seven years of transformation. Let’s defend together the conquests of the people this Saturday, December 6 in the Zócalo of Mexico City,” said Sheinbaum in his speech.
A movement in defense of social achievements
The recording was made in front of the mural “The History of Mexico”, the work of the famous painter Diego Rivera, located in the National Palace. In this symbolic setting, the head of the federal Executive defended the nature of the political movement she represents, emphasizing its peaceful nature. “Our movement is enormous, strong, transformative and those who previously enjoyed privileges do not like that. We come to govern for the people, by the people and with the people of Mexico,” he stated forcefully.
In her speech, the president made a historical review of the project, recalling that the Fourth Transformation formally began on December 1, 2018, with the inauguration of the then president Andrés Manuel López Obrador. “We are part of this transformation that began with President López Obrador. We are celebrating 7 years of transformation,” he said, establishing a clear line of continuity between his government and the previous one.
The core of his message was a call for mobilization and defense of the achievements achieved. Sheinbaum urged citizens to “defend what has been achieved, defend democracy and freedoms.” Furthermore, he referred to the current political context, arguing: “In recent times we have experienced a barrage of campaigns, slander, against what we represent, they have invented a number of tremendous things, and all because we are a movement that is in power today and that we never separated ourselves from the people.” This statement frames the call not only as a celebration, but also as an act of political support in the face of what he perceives as an offensive by his opponents.
Analytically, this event is positioned as a turning point within the first year of his administration, seeking to reinforce the cohesion of the political bloc in power and project strength to public opinion. The choice of the capital’s Zócalo, the symbolic heart of the nation, and the reference to Rivera’s mural, which narrates the history of the country, are not coincidental; They seek to anchor the 4T within a broader historical narrative of national struggles and transformations. The call transcends the festive to become an instrument of legitimation and mobilization in a complex political environment.
