A Call that Shakes the Foundations of the Nation
From the very heart of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, a message of epic proportions began to resonate, a call that promises to gather multitudes at the altar of history. The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with her voice charged with an almost prophetic fervor, called on citizens to an event of colossal magnitude: the commemoration of seven years of the Fourth Transformation in the majestic Zócalo of Mexico City, on December 6.
It was within the framework of an equally momentous event, the inauguration of the General Specialty Hospital No. 13 of the IMSS, where the president, with her eyes set on the horizon of a promised future, reminded the world of the moment in which the destiny of the nation changed forever: that December 1, 2018 when the Fourth Transformation movement rose to power. Before the watchful eyes of the medical personnel and the hopeful population of Chiapas, Sheinbaum, with unwavering conviction, declared that this political movement remains stronger and firmer than ever, supported by the overwhelming support of the Mexican people. “We are strong,” he exclaimed, drawing a line in the sand against those who long to maintain their privileges, “but it can no longer be. We do not betray our principles.”
A Monument to Health and the Future
This new health sanctuary, erected with a monumental investment of 2,929 million pesos, stands as a beacon of hope for more than one million beneficiaries in Chiapas. But this is more than a building; It is the materialization of a promise. The President proclaimed, with the certainty of someone who leads a manifest destiny, that the resources are assured, the plan is drawn up and the mission is sacred: to comply with the provisions of the fourth constitutional article. “We are going to fulfill in a better way,” he assured passionately, “that access to health is a universal right for all Mexicans. That is the plan we have, so as I said in my report: we are doing well and we are going to do better.”
The vision that unfolded before those present was not only that of a hospital, but that of a new dawn for the public health system. Sheinbaum revealed the plans for the Second Floor of the Fourth Transformation, a bold strategy aimed at standardizing the three large public health systems: the IMSS, IMSS Bienestar and the ISSSTE. The ultimate goal is an unprecedented feat of integration: that any citizen can be treated in any medical unit, backed by a universal medical record that tells their life story. To seal this national health pact, starting in January 2026, a massive credentialization process will begin, the key that will give way to the formation of the long-awaited National Public Health System. This is not a simple procedure; It is the written oath of a nation that unites to protect its own, a dramatic turn in the fight for equity and social justice.
