Discarded. Sergio Mayer will not enter the ring to face Alfredo Adame, despite the invitation he issued within the framework of Ring Royale 2.
In recent statements, the former Garibaldi was blunt: neither his age nor his current responsibilities allow that type of spectacle.
“I think we are both old enough for that. The truth is, my respects to him, that he gets into a ring, because he is no longer up to that,” he stated.
Mayer did not simply reject the proposal. He also evaluated Adame’s participation in his most recent fight.
“It seems to me that the only thing he did was make himself ridiculous, he couldn’t stand up,” he said.
Age and position matter
The deputy also explained that his public position influences the decision.
“Because of my age and my situation as a deputy and everything, it seems like it doesn’t work for me to get into a ring,” he said.
Instead of a sports rivalry, Mayer proposed a meeting of another type. In addition, he asked Adame to be more cautious when talking about his family, in particular his son, a topic he described as unpleasant.
No interest in the ring
With this, the possibility of seeing both in a boxing duel seems remote. Mayer prefers to keep his distance from a show that, in his opinion, is no longer for people his age.
