The juicy bag that Adame took after knocking out Trejo
Ok, let’s talk clearly. A few weeks ago, Alfredo Adame entered the ring against Carlos Trejo at Poncho de Nigris’ Ring Royale event. And yes, he beat him. With a right hand that sent the “Ghostbusters” to the canvas so as not to get up.
But the million dollar question (literally) is always: and how much did they pay for this show?
The numbers behind the show
In an interview with Yordi Rosado, Adame spilled the beans. And the numbers are… interesting.
“It was 100 thousand dollars to upload me, plus 150 thousand dollars from sponsorships. Adidas, influencer, Play Do It and two other brands”
That is, 250 thousand dollars in total. Not bad for someone who, in his own words, had never boxed professionally.
To put it in context: he revealed that Trejo was paid 300 thousand pesos. Much less. And Adame even made fun a little:
He said in a mocking tone that it was good, since if they had offered him 50 thousand pesos, he would have accepted it.
But here’s the good thing: when they asked him if he would have gone up anyway for less money…
He mentioned that, even if they had given him 20 thousand pesos, he would have done it too, since his intention was to “exhibit who he is.”
Classic Adame. Always with the dramatic.
The untold preparation (and problems)
Winning was not as easy as it seemed on TV. The actor admitted that his preparation was complicated. Professional boxing zero previous experience.
And then came the extra drama: a day before the fight he had an altercation with Karely Ruiz’s partner.
The result? Vertigo just before entering the ring.
“The whole day I walked with vertigo […] I walked like on skates. My coaches told me ‘don’t get on it’, but I said ‘No, I’ll get on it no matter what’, because I had a commitment, especially with the public”
After being criticized online for his age and physique (he is 66 years old), he came out with this gem:
“Age is in the mind […] I have the performance, the performance, the mentality of a 25-year-old kid. And that’s what I’ve trained my whole life for”
Moral of the story: In celebrity boxing, the punches hurt… but the bags also speak loudly.
