Reddick wins Daytona 500 in dramatic final lap

Reddick wins the Daytona 500 on the final lap after a key crash, leading Michael Jordan's car to victory.

What a way to win a Daytona!

Tyler Reddick has just written his name in motorsports history. He won the Daytona 500, the biggest prize, and he did it driving for a team owned by Michael Jordan. The cherry on the cake? He only led one lap all day: the one that matters.

The race was decided in the final seconds. Chase Elliott and Reddick were neck and neck, fighting for every inch of asphalt. In that top-speed duel, Elliott lost control and crashed.

“I only led one lap, but it was the right one,” Reddick said afterward. “This team worked all night to give me a winning car.”

That moment changed everything. With Elliott out, Reddick was able to keep his 23XI Racing Toyota Camry XSE in front all the way across the finish line. It was a victory for him, but also for the entire project.

A masterstroke for the MJ team

This win is huge for 23XI Racing. The team, co-owned by NBA icon Michael Jordan and champion Denny Hamlin, is looking to establish itself in NASCAR. Winning the most important race on the calendar is a clear message: they are here to stay.

It is a story that goes beyond the final result. It talks about preparation, being ready when your chance comes (even if it’s just for a lap), and the teamwork behind each driver. Reddick didn’t win alone; He did it with a car prepared by mechanics who don’t sleep and with the support of owners who believe in the project.

For fans, it was an electrifying ending. For Reddick and his team, it’s a dream come true under the lights of Daytona.

Group J of the 2026 World Cup already has a calendar and venues

Three cities and six games define the route of Group J in the 2026 World Cup.

Three-city circuit for Group J

Group J of the 2026 World Cup was made up of Algeria, Argentina, Austria and Jordan. The group stage will be played from June 16 to 27 in three cities in the United States: Kansas City, San Francisco and Dallas. The stadiums will be Arrowhead Stadium, Levi’s Stadium and AT&T Stadium.

Day 1: June 16

The group starts with two games on June 16. Argentina faces Algeria in Kansas City, while Austria and Jordan debut in San Francisco. All four teams go into action on the same day, with venues split between the Midwest and West Coast.

Day 2: June 22

The second date also has a double bill, but the map changes. Dallas hosts Argentina vs Austria, and San Francisco repeats as host for Jordan vs Algeria. Jordan plays its first two games at Levi’s Stadium, while Argentina changes cities compared to its debut.

Day 3: June 27

The final is held on June 27 with two simultaneous matches. Algeria vs Austria is played in Kansas City, and Jordan vs Argentina is played in Dallas. This last date completes the tour of the three venues and defines the final positions of the group.

The calendar marks a clear route: three dates, six games and an itinerary that crosses three cities in 11 days. The programming requires tight logistics for the selections, with transfers between venues and balanced breaks.

Keith Mitchell makes history at the US Open with four rounds in par

He achieved four consecutive rounds with par at the US Open, an unprecedented mark.

Keith Mitchell’s US Open started with a rollercoaster ride and ended with a historic feat: becoming the first golfer to complete four rounds of even par in that tournament. On Sunday he shot his fourth 70, securing a tie for fourth place and a ticket to next year’s Masters.

The prize is enormous for someone who, after a brutal start, doubted whether he would make it to the weekend. Mitchell started with a 41 on his first nine holes, six over par. He then responded with a 29 on the back nine, becoming the first at the US Open to record a round in the 40s and then one in the 20s.

“I may not have won, but I felt like I accomplished a lot more than maybe I thought I would after about two hours of the round,” Mitchell stated.

During the final round he remained at par or one under par. He birdied the 5th hole, moved into the red, and held on until a bogey on the 10th put him back up to par. He quickly recovered for birdie on the par-3 11th and closed with bogey on the 17th after three putts.

An achievement in a legendary field

Shinnecock Hills has seen just three players finish under par in the four US Opens it has hosted since 1986. Mitchell, 34, shot a total of 280. It wasn’t enough to win, but it was enough to tie for fourth place after Scottie Scheffler missed the birdie on the 18th.

Mitchell came to Shinnecock after completing a 36-hole qualifier in Georgia. His result is the best in a major and in the entire PGA Tour season. Currently ranked 100th in the world, he now knows that he will play the Masters and the US Open next year.

“My best finish in a major by far. A tie for fourth is a win in my book,” he noted.
