Mexican team maintains festive atmosphere before round of 16

Union and traditions mark the preparation of the Tricolor towards the direct elimination phase.

Three days before their debut in the round of 16, the Mexican National Team continues its preparation at the High Performance Center (CAR) with an atmosphere of camaraderie that is obvious.

The Tricolor opened the doors to the media for 15 minutes, enough time to confirm that joy rules the locker room after qualifying as the leader of Group A. The players entered the field showing that unity is their main strength.

Traditions and challenges between colleagues

Before training, the footballers participate in friendly challenges. Whoever loses receives the traditional “Chinese underwear”, a ritual that already seems like Kabbalah. On this occasion, Julián Quiñones, Orbelín Pineda and Erik Lira were the ones who paid the punishment.

The coexistence also extended to the press. The players joked with mock greetings to the reporters, and this time the communications team responded with the same tone. Everything ended in laughter on both sides.

The National Team will lock themselves in the CAR over the weekend until Monday, prior to Tuesday’s duel where they will seek a place in the round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.
