Participation in the General Assembly of ANUIES
The rector of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT), Dámaso Anaya Alvarado, attended the LXVIII Ordinary Session of the General Assembly of the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES), held at the University of Guanajuato (UG).
Also participating in the meeting were Luis Armando González Placencia, executive general secretary of ANUIES; Claudia Susana Gómez López, rector of the UG; Carlos Iván Moreno Arellano, general director of Higher University and Intercultural Education (DGESUI-SEP); Liza Elena Aceves López, general director of Scholarships and Support of the SECIHTI; and María José Rhi Sausi Garavito, director of the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation System (SEAES).
What was agreed? The representatives of the 275 associated institutions joined forces to consolidate agreements focused on the academic development of current and future generations. The outlook of the sector, priority actions of federal agencies and reports from executive bodies were reviewed.
Dámaso Anaya highlighted the importance of joining this national deliberative body. He endorsed the UAT’s conviction to work together through permanent dialogue and the exchange of experiences with its peers throughout the country, to respond to the great challenges of higher education in Mexico.
Their participation reaffirms the commitment of the highest educational institution in Tamaulipas to consolidate a strong, inclusive university community linked to the social and scientific development of the nation.
