UAT judo sweeps the National ANUIES 2026
The Judo Team of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas reaffirmed its high level by obtaining three gold medals and one bronze medal in the ANUIES 2026 National University Championship, held from May 22 to 25 in Guadalajara, Jalisco. The delegation stood out both in individual combat and in technical modalities.
Eduardo Sagástegui Becerra took gold in the 60 kilogram category. The athlete is considered one of the Mexican judokas with the greatest international projection and with this result he consolidates his career within the university elite.
José Alfredo Quintá López also rose to the top of the podium by becoming national champion in the 66 kilogram division.
In the Nage No Kata test, the UAT added another gold thanks to the duo of Eduardo Sagástegui Becerra and Miguel Fuentes Montealvo, who demonstrated precision and technical mastery in one of the most demanding tests.
In addition, Sergio Rosales Maldonado won bronze in the 55 kilogram category, contributing valuable points for the general classification of the contest.
The performance of the UAT reflects the high level of preparation of its athletes and positions the university as one of the powers of university judo in Mexico.
