The “Piojo” and his epic defense of timeshares
For Miguel Herrera, alias the Piojo (yes, the one with the memes), timeshare in football is not the villain that everyone paints it as, but rather that secondary character who, against all odds, ended up saving the plot. According to him, this model took governments (and certain characters who seem like they came out of an episode of La Rosa de Guadalupe) out of the football business.
“It helped a lot,” he said with the confidence of someone who has just released a *hot take* on Twitter. “It took out undesirable people and governments that used public money as if it were their personal piggy bank.” Wow, it almost sounds like an anti-corruption speech… but with more red cards.
León vs. Alajuelense: the drama that nobody asked for
The former coach of the Mexican National Team also expressed his opinion about the Club World Cup, because what would soccer be without unnecessary controversies? If León doesn’t go, his place should go to Alajuelense, according to him. “León won it sportingly, but Alajuelense pulled the strings like a good chess strategist.” In other words, the classic “it’s not personal, it’s business.”.
And in case anyone thought that timeshare killed the rivalry, Herrera denied it with the most random example: “América vs. Necaxa was pure sports hatred”. Basically, the equivalent of arguing on social networks: a lot of noise, but in the end everyone gets paid in the same way.
