Great goal from the FMF! FIFA rewards the new Mexican CAR
This Thursday, at the FIFA Congress in Vancouver, Mexico won a recognition that looks ahead to 2026. The Mexican Soccer Federation received the Forward Awards for its new hybrid field at the High Performance Center. It’s not just anything: Gianni Infantino himself presented the award to Mikel Arriola.
“The new CAR is not just a sports complex, it is the space where we will forge the next generations of national teams,” said Arriola. And boy is he right.
What’s behind this award?
The FMF put 400 million pesos into the remodeling. They went from 8,500 square meters to 19,500. Hosting capacity: from 104 to 156 players. And a gym so big that it can receive three teams training at the same time. This is like going from running on a dirt track to a tartan track: the jump is brutal.
The real impact
It’s not just brick and grass. It’s mentality. Having top-notch facilities gives you a psychological advantage. When you get to the court you know that everything is ready for you to give your maximum. That confidence is noticeable in the games. Like when you train in a good gym and feel like you can break records.
Mexico is seriously preparing for the World Cup. This award is proof that the work behind the scenes is paying off. Now it remains to be seen if the team responds on the field. But with these bases, the possibilities grow. Let’s go, Mexico!
