What a way to fly!
Still with the excitement of the silver metal of Osmar Olvera and Juan Celaya, the Mexican diving army returned to the pool in the China Super Final. And boy did they do it with style. The mixed team—Olvera, Randal Willars, Alejandra Estudillo and Aranza Vázquez—won another silver in the 3 and 10 meter event, confirming that Mexico is no longer a promise, it is a reality.
“With the leadership of Olvera, the experience of Willars, the talent of Estudillo and the mettle of Vázquez, the Mexican team executed six routines that earned them 422.50 units.”
China dominated with the gold, Australia took the bronze, but ours stole the show. The local fans applaud them, respect them. Because? Because these athletes have shown that discipline and determination are not clichés, they are their daily lives.
Bronze that tastes like a feat
But the party didn’t end there. Kevin Berlin and Randal Willars, in the synchronized 10 meter platform, fought like beasts. They came within one point of silver — 403.02 against Ukraine’s 404.28 — and took the bronze. Gold, again, for China with 448.68. Do you know what that is? Resilience. Compete to the limit and celebrate the process.
This performance is no coincidence. It is the fruit of years of training, of falling and getting up. Mexican diving is writing a story of improvement that inspires. As a former runner, I tell you: this is not just sport, it is a school of life. Let’s go Mexico!
