Majo Aguilar sings a cappella after technical failure due to rain

The singer improvised after losing her sound equipment due to the rain.

Rain forces Majo Aguilar to improvise at the GAM Stadium

The singer Majo Aguilar opened the “Estadio GAM” festival in Mexico City, but heavy rain was about to cancel her presentation. The water damaged her sound equipment, leaving the artist unable to give the full show.

Far from giving up, Aguilar took the microphone and explained to the audience what happened. Then, she began singing a cappella, accompanied only by some acoustic mariachi instruments. The public response was positive.

“When you have to celebrate, you have to celebrate with mariachi, I would have loved to give them the full show, but my equipment burned down, you can’t, you have to thank the rain, but we sing for a little while or what?
The event was held for the inauguration of the 2026 World Cup. Majo chose representative songs of traditional Mexican music, such as “El rey”, “Si nos deja”, “Déjame vivir” and “Acá entre nos”. During “Si nos deja”, he brought a girl from the audience on stage to sing with her.

After thanking the audience and promising to return soon, Antonio Aguilar Jr.’s daughter left the venue with her boyfriend, Diego Bacter, a member of the band Porter. Both avoided telling the press that they were waiting outside.

Despite the setbacks, the singer demonstrated her commitment to the public and managed to turn a rainy night into an intimate and unexpected moment.

Plane crash in Brazil: Lucas Vignale dies

Argentine director Lucas Vignale died in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro.

The world of urban cinema and music mourns the loss of Lucas Vignale. The Argentine director, 28, died on June 14 in a plane crash west of Rio de Janeiro. The accident occurred at 8:59 local time in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes area, when two helicopters collided in the air. Six people lost their lives, including the American singer Oliver Tree and the Argentine YouTuber Gaspi.

Career and legacy

Born in Buenos Aires, Vignale was an audiovisual director and producer. His work stood out in music videos, short films and documentaries. He collaborated with key figures of urban music such as J Balvin, Bizarrap, Trueno, Wos, Nicki Nicole and Duki. One of his most recognized projects was the video “Ya me gone” in 2021.

Shakira at the 2026 World Cup: doubts about her identity in the show

Theories about a possible double of the singer at the opening ceremony generate debate on networks.

Shakira’s performance at the opening of the 2026 World Cup, alongside Burna Boy, caused applause but also a wave of speculation. Thousands of users on social networks questioned whether the Colombian singer was really on stage at the Mexico City Stadium, suggesting that she could have been a double.

Appearance under the magnifying glass

Suspicions focused on his physical appearance: alleged changes in his face, hair and even his way of dancing. The constant use of dark glasses during the presentation further fueled doubts. Some followers, however, attributed the differences to natural changes or aesthetic treatments, discarding the double theory.

Response from the artistic team

The controversy escalated until members of Shakira’s dance team intervened. In a video published on TikTok, dancer Ángel Fernández, along with his partner Danna Navarrete —both part of the show— flatly denied the accusations:

“We danced with her at the inauguration. Go watch our videos, they are in our stories. We have a photo with her, we talked to her. Stop saying it wasn’t Shakira, because it was her.”

Danna asked not to minimize the work of the artistic team. However, the clip did not stop the reactions. Many users remain convinced that the singer looked different, comparing this presentation with other World Cup appearances by the Colombian. Comments such as “Shakira dances amazingly but it wasn’t her who danced at the inauguration” or “And why does she look different? It wasn’t her vibe” circulated widely.

The controversy reflects how the image of celebrities is scrutinized even in the most massive events, although the evidence of the artistic team supports that the “Waka Waka” singer was present.
