The reunion we were all waiting for
Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans took the Oscar stage together this Sunday. And it wasn’t just any entrance: they arrived with the Avengers theme song playing in the background, as if the Dolby Theater had become Stark Tower for a few seconds.
The chemistry between them is still intact. Chris Evans began with a nostalgic joke:
“It’s the 14th anniversary of the ‘Avengers’ movie. I got you a framed copy on the set.”
Downey Jr., true to his character, responded with a typical Tony Stark gesture: he showed a parking ticket as a gift.
“I am a humble person and I am going to need it back,” he said with that mix of arrogance and charisma that defines the millionaire genius.
It was a perfect moment for those of us who grew up with these movies. That film, which turns 14 in April, not only grossed more than $1.52 billion worldwide. It forever changed how we understand film franchises.
And it seems that the story does not end there. Avengers: Doomsday is announced for December 2026. The production promises to reunite these iconic figures again, in addition to adding new faces such as Pedro Pascal and Florence Pugh.
Seeing them together again was like finding that favorite vinyl you thought you had lost. It sounds just as good, it brings back the same memories, and now you have the perfect excuse to listen to it again from the beginning.
