A lesson in character at San Siro
It looked like it was going to be one of those nights. Inter, the leader, was 2-0 down against bottom team Pisa before half an hour of play. The surprise was served at San Siro.
But champion teams are measured by how they react. And Inter gave a real display of mentality. In seven magical minutes before half-time, they turned everything around.
“A burst of three goals transformed the match”, as the official story pointed out.
First was Piotr Zielinski from the twelve steps. Two minutes later, the captain and unstoppable Lautaro Martínez appeared with a header to equalize. And just before the whistle, Francesco Pio Esposito completed the stunning comeback.
The second half was a process to round out a win that speaks more about character than about the game. Federico Dimarco, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan closed the festival: 6-2 final.
What really matters: the table
With this tenth straight victory in Serie A, Inter opens a six-point gap over its closest pursuer, AC Milan. Napoli, current champions, are now nine away.
The victory comes at the perfect time. This weekend, their direct rivals face each other (Milan visits Roma and Juventus hosts Napoli), so Inter can see their lead increase without playing.
This wasn’t just winning three points. It was a message sent to the entire league: even when things go uphill, this team has the fiber to respond. That’s the mark of a true title contender.
