Meta has decided to implement new payment functions for subscribers of its three main social networks. Now users will be able to opt for a “Plus” version of Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook, with additional tools and the ability to highlight content.
With this, Mark Zuckerberg’s company seeks to diversify its income and not depend only on advertising. In addition, it will test specific plans for content creators, businesses and users with the help of artificial intelligence, under the “Meta One” brand.
Subscription costs
According to information from specialized media, next month it will begin testing two subscriptions for its AI assistant: Meta One Plus will cost $7.99 per month and Meta One Premium will cost $19.99 per month.
For social networks, the prices will be different. According to TechCrunch, Instagram and Facebook Plus will cost $3.99 (approximately 69 Mexican pesos), while WhatsApp will cost $2.99 (around 51 pesos). Prices for Mexico have not yet been revealed and may vary.
Benefits by platform
Each social network will offer specific benefits to subscribers of the “Plus” plan:
- Instagram and Facebook: See how many people have seen your story more than once, create limited audience lists, feature a story once a week, and preview a story without appearing in the viewers list.
- WhatsApp: customization of chats, decorative themes for groups, exclusive ringtones, pin more chats in the overview, personalized lists and premium stickers.
With these versions, Meta seeks to offer unique benefits to users and obtain a complementary source of income. The company continues to explore subscription models while maintaining free, ad-supported versions.
