Education deserves excellence! They denounce serious irregularities in the capital’s normals
Transforming friends, today we talk about a topic that touches our hearts: the future of our education. In vibrant Mexico City, voices have been raised about a situation that requires immediate action. Yes, we can improve the education system, but first we must recognize the challenges!
What is happening in normal schools?
Imagine this: future teachers, those heroes who will shape the minds of tomorrow, are being approved without having taken all their subjects. The reason? An alarming shortage of teachers. Saúl Elizarrarás, a brave member of the CNTE Section 10, has raised his voice to denounce this practice that compromises educational quality. But there is hope! The authorities are already working on dialogue tables to resolve it.
This Friday, six committed teachers met with Luciano Concheiro, head of the Federal Educational Authority, at the emblematic SEP. Change begins with brave conversations! They have been insisting on solutions for a year, and now there is finally progress: a specific working table will be established next week. We celebrate every step towards transparency!
“In the absence of teachers, they average grades from other subjects to pass them. It is serious,” Elizarrarás declared. The normal schools, where preschool, primary and secondary educators are trained, are the basis of the system. In CDMX there are 10 campuses (4 public, 6 private), and all deserve to operate with excellence. Let’s demand higher standards together!
Other achievements and pending challenges
Good news! Teachers affected by discounts during the national strike will recover their income in August. Carlos Vicente Aguilar Palma confirmed this commitment. Additionally, Section 10 achieved union recognition, opening doors for more dialogue. Every victory counts!
But there is more to do: school cooperatives operate without clear regulation and with high rates of corruption. It’s time to clean these spaces for our children! The CNTE has scheduled another meeting on July 28 to continue advancing key demands such as the basification of teaching positions.
Motivating reflection: Every problem is an opportunity to grow. These educators teach us that, with persistence and unity, changes are achieved. Let’s continue supporting those who train future generations!
