An operation that became a death trap
Morelos Street, in the Santiaguito Cuaxuxtenco district, was dyed red this Thursday. What should have been just another routine for the Prosecutor’s Office and the Secretary of Security of the State of Mexico became a scene from an action movie, but with terribly real consequences.
Elements who intended to carry out a procedure in a building were ambushed by armed individuals. Despite repelling the aggression, the outcome was painful: four uniformed officers injured and one confirmed casualty.
Rodrigo Garduño Ascencio, head of Services of the Second Group of Calimaya, lost his life as a result of his injuries.
Your name is no longer just a position on an organizational chart. He is a father, a husband, a partner who will not return home. After the chaos, a mega-operation was deployed that managed to capture one of the alleged aggressors. Now he is before the Public Ministry, where his legal future will be defined.
Meanwhile, in another part of the entity…
The violence gave no respite. On Avenida Torre Omega, in front of the Radio Taxis Las Torres base, another event left the pavement bloody. A man walked up to a taxi driver and shot him directly in the face.
Witnesses saw how his life was slipping away from the wheel. Two different events, perhaps disconnected, but that paint the same picture: a state where bullets seem to decide more than laws. Political theater has violent acts, and today the audience is all of us, watching from uncomfortable seats as the curtain rises on another tragic day.
