Alejandro Marcovich is already home. The 66-year-old guitarist suffered a stroke on May 19 and spent 49 days hospitalized. Now, awake and eager to live, he hums from Mozart to The Beatles.

“He hums all the time, perfectly on time, and well, he is passionate about music,” shares his wife, Gabriela Martínez Vela.

The family adapted a special room with medical equipment to monitor his vital signs. The doctors preferred to discharge him to avoid hospital-acquired infections.

Gabriela reports that Marcovich’s evolution has been favorable, despite difficult days: “He defied the harshest diagnoses.” The musician went from intensive to intermediate therapy and is now continuing his recovery at home.

Specialists are confident that, after rehabilitation therapies, Alejandro will be able to fully recover his motor skills. The diagnosis was an abrupt assault on the body, but the outlook is encouraging.

The selection of competing films will be announced in ten days; More than a dozen titles are expected.

“We are five different nationalities. The key is to argue and reach consensus. There is always subjectivity, but dialogue democratizes the decision,” explains Pablos.

On the road continues to achieve success

The film, produced by Inna Payán and Diego Luna, has been in theaters for seven weeks and more than 50 thousand viewers. In addition, it leads the Ariel Award nominations with 13, including Film, Director and Actor for Osvaldo Sánchez.

“I appreciate the recognition from the union and that many collaborators are also nominated,” says Pablos.

The Ariel ceremony will take place on October 3 at a venue yet to be defined.
