The municipal president of Huatusco, Alberto Urcino Méndez, went to the state capital to carry out various procedures with state authorities, among which the request for the reintegration of ambulances and patrols stands out, as well as the promotion of the project of a specialty hospital for the High Mountains region.
In an interview, the mayor explained that he came individually, accompanied only by the mayor of Tlacotepec de Mejía, with the objective of requesting the return of two ambulances and four patrol cars that had been assigned to Huatusco during the previous administration and that were withdrawn after the change of government.
He explained that these are new units that even already have the municipality’s labeling, which – he said – would allow security routes to be strengthened and improve attention to citizens, although he clarified that currently the city council has sufficient equipment.
Urcino Méndez pointed out that, in addition to issues related to public safety and pre-hospital care, one of the priority projects of his administration is the management of a specialty hospital, considering that it is an urgent need for Huatusco and neighboring municipalities in the central area of the state.
He indicated that the intention is to present a formal letter to the governor to present the project and express the municipality’s willingness to contribute the resources that correspond to it, in coordination with the state and federal governments.
The mayor recalled that the construction of a specialty hospital was one of the commitments publicly announced on the day he was sworn in as municipal president.
On the other hand, he reported that since January 1, a permanent awareness and surveillance campaign was implemented for the mandatory use of helmets among motorcyclists, with the aim of reducing accidents and saving lives in the municipality.
Finally, Urcino Méndez reiterated that his administration will continue to make representations to state and federal authorities to strengthen security and health services, for the benefit of the population of Huatusco and the High Mountains region.
In addition to promoting recreation and sports, the activity represents an important economic benefit for service providers, local businesses and entrepreneurs, who benefit from the arrival of visitors during the development of the event.
