Complaint for family abuse
María Felicia Jiménez, wife of former Pemex director Víctor Rodríguez, filed a formal complaint with the Family Violence Crime Investigation Prosecutor’s Office in Mexico City. She claimed to have suffered physical and psychological attacks during her marriage.
In an interview with Azucena Uresti for Grupo Formula, Jiménez explained that the complaint was filed on June 29. The authorities treated her “like another citizen” who came to report family abuse.
He explained that he could only report two specific episodes, because the Prosecutor’s Office demanded exact dates of the attacks. He acknowledged that the process was emotionally exhausting.
The attacks began in 2022. Over time, he normalized the violent behavior until he decided to make it public. He pointed out that emotional abuse destroys the victim’s self-esteem.
She married the former official in 2019. The first incidents arose during confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which deteriorated coexistence.
The family environment was also affected. His minor son began to reproduce the offensive patterns he observed at home.
