The Secretary of the Navy denied having broken into, attacked and harassed students at the Regional Normal Education Center of Río Grande, Oaxaca. The institution assured that there is no record of naval participation in the events of June 25.
The students spread images and videos that, according to them, show naval elements within the campus. In response, the Navy affirmed that its tours in the region seek to strengthen security, with adherence to the law and respect for human rights. In a first statement, it described the complaint as misinformation.
The Student Executive Committee denounced that the uniformed men entered by force that afternoon. They reported intimidation with cartridge cuts, threats, physical and psychological violence, as well as direct attacks against a colleague.
Faced with pressure, the Secretary of the Navy issued a second statement. He reported that he opened an internal investigation to clarify the allegations regarding illegal entry to the campus. He also announced that he will collaborate with the competent authorities to determine responsibilities and act in coordination with the law enforcement agencies.
