U2 took to the streets of CDMX and no one expected it
The Irish band decided that their next video clip would be filmed in the Historic Center. Yes, Bono and company got on a bus in the Plaza de Santo Domingo and put on an improvised show. The fans, obviously, couldn’t believe it.
“We took a bus in Mexico City bound for the street of dreams. Justice is an obsession, love is a procession along the street of dreams,” they wrote on social media.
The project is called “The Streets of Dreams” or “La Calle de los Sueños”, and is linked to their next album. In addition, it has a social purpose: the Street Child World Cup 2026, which they sponsor. Classic U2 mixing art with a cause.
The streets of the Republic of Brazil and Colombia were filled with billboards, technical equipment and a bus that stole everyone’s attention. Hours before, the fans were already there, recording everything.
The reactions on social networks were pure chaos: “How was I not there?”, “Since you’re around here, you don’t want a concert,” “I’ll buy you some pulques.” Nostalgia and hype mixed together.
And well, while we wait for the official video clip, it is clear to us: U2 still knows how to strike a blow just when you least expect it.
