Interoceanic Train still without passengers after derailment

While the FGR rules out faults on the track, the train continues not to operate for passengers. The victims have already received compensation, according to the government.

The official version and the rails that don’t add up

The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) has already issued its verdict: the derailment of the Interoceanic Train was not due to a problem on the track. Meanwhile, passenger service remains suspended. Does anyone else see the contradiction?

Claudia Sheinbaum, in her morning conference from the National Palace, announced that work on reopening and certification continues. The speech is one of progress, but the facts show a stationary train.

“The company TUV International continues to work, together with the Railway Transport Agency and the Interoceanic Train to be able to resolve all the suggestions that are being raised,” said the president.

For cargo it already operates. For people, no. The promise is to wait for “all suggestions” for certification to be fulfilled. It sounds reasonable, until you remember that the FGR already exonerated the infrastructure.

Repairing the damage: Quick closure or real justice?

Rosa Icela Rodríguez, from Segob, declared the repair process completed for 225 affected passengers. Among them, 14 people died and around 100 were injured.

“Absolutely all of them were attended to and the damage was repaired,” he commented.

An administrative procedure closed with bureaucratic efficiency. But when a train derails and people die, the questions about why outweigh the signed checks.

Sheinbaum reaffirms that “all necessary measures” are taken to guarantee safety. Memory is short: a little over a year ago another freight train derailed in Nayarit. The promises of then sound identical to those of today.

The truth hurts more than a broken bone: you can compensate victims, but if you don’t fix what really went wrong, you’re just buying time until the next accident.

Know how to download the SEP report card

Steps to download the report card for the 2025-2026 cycle from the SIGED platform.

How to obtain the report card?

A few days before the end of the 2025-2026 school year, parents and guardians are looking for how to access the report card. The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) established that the delivery of final results will be on Tuesday, July 14, one day before the end of classes.

Grades can be consulted in person at school information sessions or online through the Educational Information and Management System (SIGED). The process is free and the portal is available 24 hours a day.

Steps for digital download

  1. Enter the SIGED portal.
  2. Access the “Student consultation” section.
  3. Capture the student’s CURP.
  4. Perform the search and select the corresponding school year.
  5. Download the document in PDF format to print.

In Mexico City, it can also be consulted on the platform of the Federal Educational Authority in Mexico City (AEFCM), where the CURP and the Work Center Key (CCT) of the school are required.

Ballot elements

The document must include the student’s personal data: full name, CURP, group and school grade, as well as school information. To guarantee its authenticity, the ballot has a QR code, a digital seal from the SEP, an electronic signature from the educational authority and a unique folio.

Knowing the download process allows families to receive academic information in a timely manner and without setbacks.

Kenzo, the escaped tiger, died from a gunshot to the head

An autopsy reveals that Kenzo died from bronchoaspiration after a projectile impact to the head.

Kenzo, the Bengal tiger that escaped from the Animal Experience center on June 27, died on July 2 during his capture in Tepetlaoxtoc. The UNAM autopsy determined the cause: aspiration of blood after a projectile impact to the head.

Necropsy details

The study, delivered to Profepa, indicates that the wound “entered through the region of the right upper eyelid and continued its journey through the soft palate.” Kenzo weighed 116.2 kg and was 236 cm long.

“Likewise, it describes other wounds that the specimen had, some compatible with firearm projectiles; among them, one corresponding to the marking of the specimen (microchip) and, in addition, an 11 cm longitudinal lacerating wound in the tail,” details the PROPAEM statement.

The preliminary report from the UNAM Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics still awaits a final diagnosis with histopathological examination for greater precision.

Causes of death

Kenzo died during the capture operation after trying to attack one of the rescuers. The projectile impact was necessary to safeguard the integrity of that person. Authorities continue the investigation into the escape and the conditions at the center.
