More than a Train, a Development Engine
This is not just an infrastructure project; It is a symbol of transformation. Accompanied by the governor of Yucatán and his cabinet, Sheinbaum highlighted how this expansion will multiply the impact of the Mayan Train, which has already transported 1.2 million passengers. “We will not only move people, we will move dreams!” could be the motto. With wagons dedicated to the transport of goods, from local products to exports, the southeast will become a logistics hub of international stature.
Why is it revolutionary? Because it democratizes access to markets. Farmers, entrepreneurs and manufacturers will be able to ship their products quickly, efficiently and sustainably, reducing costs and expanding horizons. And that’s just the beginning! The work will be linked to the modernization of the Progreso Port (with an additional investment of 12 billion pesos) and the Interoceanic Corridor, creating a network that will compete with the best in the world.
The Army and Navy: Key Allies
Here is another reason to celebrate: Sedena’s military engineers will lead the construction of the railway section, while the Navy will supervise the port project. Synergies that guarantee transparency and results! Additionally, in Palenque, Chiapas, a strategic station will be built to link the Mayan Train with the Interoceanic Train, positioning Mexico as a key route for transcontinental trade.
