Framework of Certainty and Investment Opportunities

During the conversations, crucial issues for the economic projection of the region were analyzed, with special emphasis on technological innovation, productive diversification and the strategic role of Nayarit in strengthening national development. Since the beginning of its management, the administration of Navarro Quintero has implemented a management model based on administrative transparency, legal certainty and balanced growth, principles that have been catalysts for attracting private investment.

This government vision has allowed the consolidation of structural projects in high-impact sectors such as sustainable tourism, value-added agribusiness, information technology, higher education and logistical infrastructure

The state president highlighted the trust that the business sector maintains in the state: “We talked about the trust that businessmen have in the certainty that Nayarit generates for investment and sustainable growth,” he revealed. Navarro Quintero affirmed that the transformation of the state is the result of coordinated work between civil society, government institutions and private capital.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

For his part, Carlos Slim emphasized that productive investment is an essential element to catalyze economic progress and improve social conditions. The business leader argued that investing generates more specialized education, more training programs and formal and quality jobs for citizens.

The businessman also recognized the leadership of the Governor and his commitment to the sustainable growth of Nayarit: “The decisions and what he is thinking and what he is doing are excellent. He has made a lot of progress. And we talk about many things. Let them know what we do at the foundation and in that sense that there are many things that can be done in Nayarit.”.

With the determined support of the business sector and the vision of a government committed to collective well-being, Nayarit consolidates its position as one of the new poles of economic development in western Mexico, laying the foundations for a future of prosperity and equity.

Deaths in immigration custody

Three migrants from Guanajuato lost their lives during 2026 in incidents linked to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) in the United States.

José Guadalupe Ramos Solano, 52, of Silao, died on March 25 at the Adelanto Processing Center, California, while in ICE custody. Alejandro Cabrera Clemente, 49, living in Valle de Santiago, was found dead on April 11 in a cell at the Louisiana Immigration Detention Center.

The case of Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán

Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán, 28 years old and father of two children, died on July 14, run over by ICE agents during an operation in San Agustín, northeast of Florida. He had entered the United States with a tourist visa three weeks earlier and had only been in Florida for two days.

His wife, Yessica Alamilla López, traveled to Orlando to arrange the repatriation of the body. His parents and two children remained in San Luis de la Paz.

The state government, through the Human Rights Secretariat, contacted the family and offered support. The Undersecretary of Attention to Migrants, Susana Guerra Vallejo, confirmed that funeral services, the transfer of the body and the widow’s plane ticket will be covered. However, Yessica Alamilla requested additional financial support for repatriation.

Representative Yesenia Rojas Cervantes, president of the Migrant Assistance Commission of the local Congress, urged the Government of Mexico to demand accountability for these deaths. He noted that President Donald Trump has toughened immigration policy.

“We cannot normalize the fact that our fellow citizens lose their lives in circumstances of abuse and persecution,” said the legislator.
