President Claudia Sheinbaum proposed Cristina Planter Riebeling as undersecretary for North America, replacing Roberto Velasco, who left the position to take over as chancellor.
The Executive sent four appointments to the Senate for ratification. In addition to Planter, Roberto Lazzeri is included as ambassador to the United States, Pedro Blanco Pérez as ambassador to India and Alicia Buenrostro Massieu as ambassador to the Netherlands.
The Foreign Ministry reported that three of the four belong to the Mexican Foreign Service, with the exception of Lazzeri.
“Everyone has the task of defending national interests and providing close attention to Mexican communities abroad,” said Foreign Relations.
