A Friday of terror on Paseo de los Leones
This Friday morning started with a roar that chilled the blood in the western area of Monterrey. An official Sedena unit ended up stuck against a retaining wall, leaving four elements projected against the asphalt. Six were on board; four flew away.
“The vehicle skidded due to the wet pavement and speed,” State Protection reported.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Paseo de los Leones and Barcelona, in Bosques de las Cumbres. A military pickup truck lost control, allegedly due to slippery conditions and excessive speed. The result: four seriously injured, immediately transferred to the Military Hospital. The other two were for evaluation only.
What happened next?
They arrived at the scene like in an action movie: State Civil Protection, personnel from the Sedena, Prosecutor’s Office and Mobility of Monterrey. Everyone in charge of the investigations. The authorities assure that there are no additional risks in the area, but the scare was recorded.
This is not just a road accident. It’s a reminder that even Army vehicles, with all their preparation, are vulnerable to wet pavement and recklessness. Speed, combined with water, is unforgiving. And here, four soldiers paid the price.
