Operation in Sinaloa: between kidnapped miners and shot deputies
Rubén Rocha, the governor of Sinaloa, arrived at the Teatro de la República with urgent news. He did not come only to commemorate the Constitution, but to report on two crises that have the state in suspense.
On the one hand, the kidnapping of ten miners. On the other hand, the shooting attack against two Citizen Movement deputies. Two different dramas, but with the same backdrop: violence.
“They are carrying out a very integrated operation,” Rocha stated about the search for the workers. He said that intelligence cells, the Army and specialized personnel are already in the Concordia area.
Regarding legislators Sergio Torres Félix and Elizabeth Montoya, there was concrete progress. “One person has already been arrested,” he revealed. He explained that a deputy is still hospitalized, possibly for a second intervention, but she is already walking. The other one is already at home.
The press also asked him about the arrest of the Morenista mayor of Tequila, Jalisco. His response was curt and evasive. “If I don’t know about Sinaloa, even less about Tequila,” he simply said.
Two critical scenarios. A governor giving explanations between protocol acts. Mexican political theater, once again, showing its most dramatic and urgent face.
