The Monterrey creator trains with Ronny and Lupita Villalobos ahead of her fight against RoRo.

The Mexican streamer Samantha Rivera, known as Rivers, shared a video on YouTube that shows her training routine for the sixth edition of The Evening of the Year. The event, organized by Ibai Llanos, will take place on July 25 at the Estadio de la Cartuja, Seville.

Session with Lupita Villalobos

In the material, Rivers invited podcaster Lupita Villalobos, 36, to a sparring session. Villalobos was preparing for Supernova Génesis against Kim Shantal, but a medical diagnosis forced her to withdraw.

Together they practiced basic exercises: warm-up, footwork, punches, defense, uppercuts, hooks and jabs. In the end they sparred to polish moves.

“Oh, I had a great time! Thank you for that day. We have to do things together, Tqm,” Villalobos wrote on YouTube. Users reacted: “Wow, with this we confirm that Lupita would have won in Supernova.”

Rivers seeks revenge in Spain after his experience in previous editions. The fight against RoRo will be one of the most anticipated of the poster, which combines content creators from several countries.

Andrea Legarreta asks to stop criticism against Galilea Montijo

Andrea Legarreta defends Galilea Montijo from comments about her appearance.

Andrea Legarreta, host of the program Hoy, came out in defense of her partner Galilea Montijo in the face of constant accusations about her physical appearance on social networks.

During an interview with the press, Legarreta spoke about the aesthetic treatments that she herself uses. He clarified that resorting to them is a personal decision and should not generate attacks.

“I have my doctor Day, who does light things. I like to be natural in everything, as natural as possible,” she explained.

The host, 55 years old, mentioned that biostimulators have worked to improve the firmness of her skin without altering her features.

A call to empathy

When asked about the criticism that Galilea Montijo, 53, receives for her change of face in The House of the Famous, Legarreta did not hesitate to support her.

“I love Gali very much. I find it very sad, everyone has the right to do what they want, but we must not be cruel,” he expressed with annoyance.

He also reflected on the origin of those comments. For her, those who criticize from the screen usually have personal dissatisfactions.

“I think it comes from beings who suffer a lot or who have some situation in life that makes them uncomfortable… as a society we have to think carefully before writing such strong things,” he said.

Legarreta closed the topic by confessing that he is experiencing one of his happiest moments, personally and professionally. “Today I am happier than ever. I feel full, loved, valued, pampered, healthy and with work,” she concluded.

David Pablos returns to Venice, now as a jury

The Mexican filmmaker returns to Venice, now as a jury in Horizontes.

The Mexican filmmaker David Pablos repeats at the Venice Festival, but with a different role. A year after winning with On the Road in the Horizons section, he will now be part of the jury that will award the films in that same category, from September 2 to 12.

“A year ago I was in France finishing the sound design to arrive on time. Now I’m running for other reasons (laughs),” says the director. “I return to a section of more risky, authorial cinema, less formatted by the industry.”

Jury with five nationalities

He will be accompanied by Hong Kong director Elizabeth Lo, Italian actress Barbara Ronchi, American distributor Peter Becker and French filmmaker Valérie Donzelli, who will chair the group.

The selection of competing films will be announced in ten days; More than a dozen titles are expected.

“We are five different nationalities. The key is to argue and reach consensus. There is always subjectivity, but dialogue democratizes the decision,” explains Pablos.

On the road continues to achieve success

The film, produced by Inna Payán and Diego Luna, has been in theaters for seven weeks and more than 50 thousand viewers. In addition, it leads the Ariel Award nominations with 13, including Film, Director and Actor for Osvaldo Sánchez.

“I appreciate the recognition from the union and that many collaborators are also nominated,” says Pablos.

The Ariel ceremony will take place on October 3 at a venue yet to be defined.
