Starting next March 2, the Government of Mexico will launch the registration for the new health credential, a document that seeks to guarantee continuous and universal access to public medical services throughout the country.
During the People’s Conference headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, reported that the registration process will be carried out in a staggered manner, dividing the federal entities into two blocks. In this scheme, the state of Veracruz will join the registry as of March 23.
The official explained that interested people must go to the corresponding modules to register. Subsequently, they will be contacted by telephone or text message to find out the date, time and place in which they must collect their printed credential, a procedure that will be carried out approximately six weeks after the initial registration.
He explained that the physical credential will have a QR code that will allow beneficiaries to download the digital version of the document, which will facilitate its portability. This mechanism will allow people to change their rights without losing access to health services, as it is a universal right.
Ariadna Montiel specified that the phased implementation responds to operational and logistical criteria, mainly related to the arrival and distribution of the necessary equipment in each entity, with the aim of guaranteeing an orderly, efficient and smooth process throughout the country.
With this new credential, the Government of Mexico seeks to strengthen access to health and ensure continuity in medical care for the entire population.
