The INAPAM credential: essential support for older adults in Mexico

The card issued by the National Institute of Older Persons (INAPAM) has established itself as one of the documents most valued by the Mexican population, by facilitating access to social programs and benefits designed to improve the quality of life of people over 60 years of age. This instrument not only promotes social inclusion, but also serves as a bridge to access specific public policies.

Validity and renewal of the credential

One of the most frequent questions among users is whether the INAPAM credential has a certain validity. According to official provisions, this document does not require periodic renewal once issued, which simplifies its continued use. However, it is essential to keep the data updated in the event of changes in address or marital status, as this could affect the validity of some associated benefits.

Fewer tax returns due to Resico facilities

The SAT reports a drop in annual declarations; The reason is in the Simplified Trust Regime.

Fewer declarations, more facilities

The Tax Administration Service received fewer tax returns from individuals this year. The reason: facilities granted to small taxpayers of the Simplified Trust Regime (Resico).

Gari Flores, General Administrator of Collection of the SAT, explained it at a press conference organized by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants.

“Indeed, this year fewer declarations were submitted; those who are in Resico were given the option of not submitting the declaration starting this year.”

Flores acknowledged that this impact was “very important in the number of statements.” Another reason: decrease in complementary statements. “If we analyze the number of these compared to last year, it is the strongest decrease that we have,” he highlighted. Now taxpayers file their return only once.

Returns on the rise

Although the SAT expected more than 11 million declarations for fiscal year 2025, in May it reported 10,783,158. Of them, 7.9 million with a favorable balance. At the end of last week, 5.6 million requested a refund, with a restored amount of 44 billion pesos, higher than the 31,870 million reported in May.

Flores clarified that the balance in favor depends on the economic situation of each year. He denied that the SAT withholds returns due to inconsistencies in CLABE accounts. “In no way does the SAT act arbitrarily; we have other data,” he stated. The main reason: some taxpayers changed banks and it is necessary to verify.

In short, fewer statements but simpler and with record returns.

Linking mobile lines: deadlines and citizen fears

Government denies national registry; Doubts persist about the protection of personal data.

Mobile line registration: myths and realities

The process of mandatory linking of telephone lines advances amid concerns about the handling of personal data. The Government of Mexico categorically denies the existence of a centralized national registry.

The strategy, which began on January 9, 2026, seeks to reduce telephone extortion. The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) and the Digital Transformation Agency clarify that the State does not directly collect confidential information.

Each telephone company —Telcel, Movistar, AT&T, Bait, Altán Redes, Izzi Móvil, Mega Móvil and Unefon— is solely responsible for safeguarding the data in their private systems.

Citizen distrust in the face of security failures

Despite official campaigns, resistance to the procedure persists. Users fear leaks of sensitive data such as CURP. This distrust is intensified by technical reports that indicate that errors and the leak of personal data affected the first mass registration attempt in Mexico. A vulnerability in the Telcel platform exposed names, CURP, RFC, dates of birth and emails without authentication.

Faced with these incidents, a large sector refuses to provide their data, even if the omission implies the loss of connectivity.

Authorities confirm that no biometric data, photographs or fingerprints are requested. In cases where platforms request “proof of life” through temporary facial recognition, said record is not stored and is automatically deleted at the end of the process. The requirement is only CURP and a valid official identification with a photo for Mexicans; Foreigners can use a passport or temporary CURP.

The CRT establishes a digital and in-person procedure before June 30, 2026, without official extension. The steps are:

  • Enter the official portal (portal.crt.gob.mx/gestion-de-lineas-telefonicas-moviles) or the operator’s site via SMS.
  • Capture full name and CURP (or RFC for legal entities).
  • Complete digital authentication by uploading the requested documents.
  • Save the confirmation sheet.

The system allows a maximum of 3 attempts; If they are out of stock, the user must go in person to a Customer Service Center.

Since February 7, 2026, the consultation site (portal.crt.gob.mx/plataformas-de-consulta) has been active to verify numbers associated with each identity. Lines not linked before July 1 will be suspended, allowing only calls to emergencies or to the operator’s service center.
