Puerto Rico rallies support for Miss Universe due to scandals

The government of Puerto Rico freezes its support and a million-dollar payment, demanding clarity in the face of a storm of legal accusations that surround the owners.

The beauty pageant that preferred drama to the crown

It seems that the Miss Universe organization decided that the backstage reality show was more interesting than the evening dress parade. Just when we all thought the biggest conflict would be a questionable touch, Puerto Rico, the next announced host, has put a huge stop to everything. The reason? Demand guarantees of transparency in the operation and use of public funds. They basically told the franchise: “show your receipts or there’s no party.”

Governor Jenniffer González summed it up with the elegance of someone who discovers juicy gossip: “There is a real concern, we all have it. Nobody expected that a pageant of the importance and standing of Miss Universe would be affected.” Millennial translation: “We are all in the WhatsApp group discussing this disaster.”

A cast of owners with more problems than contestants

And, hey, the concern has soap opera foundations. The plot involves an arrest warrant against Raúl Rocha Cantú, co-owner, for alleged organized crime, and an investigation in Thailand against owner Anne Jakrajutatip for fraud charges. As if that were not enough, there are accusations of supposed favoring of the Mexican Fátima Bosch so that she would win. In other words, not only are there legal problems, but the result of the contest itself is under suspicion. Who needs scripts when reality offers this level of chaos?

Faced with this festival of red flags, the Puerto Rican government did not sit idly by. The masterstroke: the Tourism Company stopped the payment of 1.5 million dollars. A financial move that is the corporate equivalent of putting away your wallet when a cousin with a bad reputation arrives. Willianette Robles, director of the entity, was clear: the suspension is due to the lack of transparency. They have asked the organization for complete plans of their house, I mean, its internal structure.

An ultimatum with a deadline: January or nothing

Governor González was more specific with the ultimatum: “We have given you until January to submit to the Tourism Company information about who will be the new executives, how it will be handled and review all the clauses”. Basically, it’s a “resolve your personal issues and then we’ll talk about business.” Meanwhile, the organization of the international competition maintains a screaming silence, although its internal conflicts remain more alive than ever. A few weeks ago, they closed their offices in Mexico, confirming that this crisis is more global than live coverage.

The outlook for the 2026 edition is, as we would say, a mood of total uncertainty. What should be an event of glamor and tourism promotion has become a case study in crisis management and corporate governance. Puerto Rico, wisely, is protecting its investment and its image, demanding that the show stop being behind the scenes and focus on the catwalk. For now, the future of the gala hangs by a thread, one that we hope is not part of an alleged fraud.

Pedro Sola joins the animal rights campaign after controversy

The driver admits his mistake and joins an initiative in favor of dogs.

Pedro Sola once again addressed the issue of his comments about dogs, which generated criticism on social networks. The host of Ventaneando denied being a bad person and asked to support animal rights activism.

What did he say about dogs?

After the controversy unleashed by his statements, the entertainment program sought to clarify the situation. On Tuesday, July 21, after a live apology the previous week and the reading of a statement — where Pati Chapoy, Sola and their colleagues showed commitment to animal protection — the space returned to the topic.

“Educate myself and raise awareness on the issue of animal education… at the end of the day, I’m not a bad person, I said things I shouldn’t have, but I have understood my mistake,” said Sola.

The driver explained that, after measuring the scope of his words, he now joins a campaign that prioritizes the well-being of dogs. Together with Jimena Pérez “la Choco”, Mónica Castañeda and Ricardo Manjarez, he assured that each one is committed to supporting animal protection associations.

The gesture seeks to respond to the indignation that his comments caused on networks, although without further statements involved.

Luisito Comunica apologizes to ARMY after controversy over BTS

The YouTuber received thousands of hostile messages after minimizing BTS's performance at the World Cup.

The comment that sparked the controversy

Content creator Luis Arturo Villar, known as Luisito Comunica, became a trend after receiving criticism and aggressive messages from BTS followers. The incident occurred on July 19, during the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain in Miami.

During the halftime show, the South Korean group performed Dynamite. Luisito posted a video on Instagram saying that no one reacted to the show. “No one got excited about BTS. But really NO ONE,” he wrote.

In the same clip, he added: “It’s really funny, you can tell we’re at a football fan event, because the BTS one just came out, the Korean guy is very famous, and I don’t see anyone really excited.”

Excuse me with an ironic tone

Hours later, the YouTuber uploaded another video. This time, he apologized to the ARMY community and revealed that he had received thousands of insults and threats. “I’m scared, let me know. It’s not a joke, I’m really scared. I woke up to thousands of messages from very angry people, insulting me, threatening me,” he declared.

With a sarcastic tone, he added: “I know they are capable of destroying lives. I want to apologize to them and I hope we can be friends.” He assured that he made a mistake and that, contrary to popular belief, he enjoys the group’s music.

The video accumulated divided reactions between those who supported his comment and those who considered it a provocation. As of this writing, neither Luisito nor BTS representatives have issued additional statements.
