The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), Roberto Velasco, met with the executive president of CAF, Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Sergio Díaz-Granados. The objective was to strengthen regional cooperation and promote sustainable development and economic integration projects.
Cooperation and sustainable investment
During the meeting, both parties discussed initiatives to promote economic growth through strategic investments. They also addressed mechanisms that favor competitiveness and collaboration between countries in the region.
The Foreign Ministry reported that Velasco highlighted Mexico as an attractive destination for investment. He pointed out that the country has infrastructure, sustained growth in foreign direct investment and government programs to encourage new capital.
For its part, CAF indicated that the meeting made it possible to strengthen the alliance with Mexico to advance a development agenda with regional impact. They agreed on the importance of promoting projects related to sustainable development, green transition and economic integration.
Mexico’s role as a strategic partner for the growth of Latin America and the Caribbean was also recognized. The commitment to continue promoting initiatives that contribute to the mobilization of investments and the economic development of the region was reiterated.
The meeting marks an important step towards regional cooperation, highlighting the need for a joint approach to face current economic challenges.
