A Tragic Night Shocks the Border
The city of Juárez, Chihuahua, was the scene of a particularly violent day that culminated in the loss of five human lives in a multi-homicide and the discovery of at least two intimidating narco messages. These serious events have once again put the security situation in the border region at the center of the debate.
The events occurred during the night of Thursday, when a group of men was executed inside a house located at the intersection of General Máximo Castillo and Professor Esther Gómez streets, in the Mexican Revolution colony. The crime scene revealed the cruelty of the attack: three of the victims lost their lives inside the property, while the other two were found lifeless outside the property.
To date, the deceased people remain unidentified, which adds a layer of mystery and pain to the tragedy. The precise causes of the attack are unknown, but a crucial element found at the scene points to the motive for the crime: a narco message was left by the attackers, a macabre signature that characterizes organized crime groups.
A Spiral of Violence that Continues
The wave of violent events did not end there. In the early hours of Friday, the violence moved to the El Papalote neighborhood, located southeast of Ciudad Juárez. At this point in the town, two other men were executed. As in the previous case, the perpetrators left a threat message directed specifically at an individual, intensifying the climate of terror and intimidation among the population.
The recurrence of these criminal acts and the use of warning statements show an active struggle between criminal factions that operate in the area, using violence as a tool to mark territory and send messages of power.
Authorities Attribute the Facts to Disputes over the Sale of Synthetic Drugs
In response to these crimes, the authorities held the security table on Friday, a coordination space that brings together representatives of the three levels of government. After analyzing the events, it was determined that this escalation of violent incidents would be directly related to the illicit sale of crystal (methamphetamine) in the city.
The municipal president of Ciudad Juárez, Cruz Pérez Cuéllar, was emphatic in pointing out that there is a dispute between rival criminal groups. “There is a struggle between gangs that do not want the sale in Juárez to occur by certain groups,” said the mayor, underlining the territorial nature of the conflict.
The local president confirmed that exhaustive investigations into the events are being carried out to find those responsible. He reiterated that, according to the first investigations, the origin of the violence is directly related to the marketing of glass in the locality, a lucrative but bloody market that generates constant confrontations.
Despite the efforts of the police corporations, at the time of this edition there are no detained people linked to the multiple homicides of the last few hours nor to the authorship of the narco messages that have appeared in various parts of the city. The community expects strong responses and actions that restore peace and security in the streets of Juárez.
